hi all

TKM Festival – Kimbolton – 11th August

This was as the title suggests just for TKM related karts and engines to celebrate fifty years of these products. Organised by the Tal-Ko organisation, it was mainly a race meeting for modern TKM karts, but there was demonstration time for karts from all years. We provided a good variety from the 1956-82 period, and as Bernie Turney (TKMs founder) originally started by importing Italkarts and Komet engines in the early sixties, it was only fitting that we had Tony Brinkworth’s 1962 Ital Kart/Komet x 2 as an early example, whilst supporting the later decades, young Ed Thurston’s BRK/TKM was one of the 1980s examples. As for karters, there were many representing the decades with Peter Freeman and his Barlotti/Arrow being one of the competitors from the very early years out on track.

The rain stayed away and an hour’s track time was available during the lunch break. This was really appreciated as Kimbolton’s track is well liked. Really nice meeting and it may become regular event. Photos by Pixelero.
