British Historic Kart Club © 2014
Historic karting evolved from enthusiasts who attended Shenington KRC's fortieth anniversary race meeting in June 2000 and, following that event, historic karting grew rapidly with The British Historic Kart Club being formed in 2005. This club now has over 350 members and has become a recognised branch of karting.
Historic Karting provides an added dimension to the sport of kart racing and a major growth area for UK Motorsport. Despite the broader background of financial constraints, this growth has continued and is anticipated to maintain its expansion in future years.
Historic karting has grown partly because its boundaries reach outside conventional kart events - we also attend motor racing focused events and festivals, air shows, motorsport oriented exhibitions and displays and anything else that will promote historic karting and that can be considered fun and enjoyable. To keep everyone in touch with all the relevant events, the BHKC has this website, including an on-line forum for club members and a newsletter published every two months.
